While this winter
was milder than most, I still love watching a new spring appear. There's something about watching the grass turn green, the trees blossoming, the flowers blooming, the birds chirping, the frogs croaking, and the sun shining overhead.
I love spring. I also love the thunderstorms that come with it. Not the violent, shake your house kind of storms, but the ones that are more bluster than harmful.
The ones where the growl is worse than the bite. I love those type of storms with the full thunderclouds steadily moving eastward, the surprising cracks of thunder that make you jump and the kind of lighting that lights up the darkened sky.
There's something about a good thunderstorm that makes you feel alive.
However, spring is also a time of new beginnings, not just for mother nature, but for us as well. Spring is a time to start new projects, explore new words, and conquer all of those things we have been putting off until tomorrow. So, I am hoping this spring that I can finally get my butt in gear and write more over the summer. I know, I say it all the time, but I think this year is going to be different (fingers crossed).
What is your favorite season? Do you get spring fever? What goals do you have for the upcoming summer?
My goals are to slow down a bit, write a little more, and enjoy all the new possibilities that arise!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Kasey!
Kellie, good luck with that. Congrats on the third book being accepted too!
ReplyDeletethanks Kasey!
DeleteI love the springtime! It's my favorite season, partially because of the flowers that bloom and the milder temperatures. I don't necessarily get Spring Fever in that I need to start new projects, but I definitely want to be outside more. :D
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too! I just wish it would warm up here!
DeleteI do. Right when the weather turns warm, I feel like junking through stuff. It does help me keep things organized some.
ReplyDeleteI love the spring as well with all the beautiful flowers and the comfortable weather. Fall is another favorite season of mine. I do have some goals which I am working on both in my personal and professional life for this year and spring is the perfect beginning to all of them! It definitely gets me geared up and ready to go!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Kasey! Now, it's time to go for a walk on this beautiful spring day.
HUGS,
JD :)
Great topic, Kasey! I enjoy EARLY spring here in humidville, Louisiana, before the miserable heat sets in. I do love the smell and the fresh flowers. I love thunderstorms though...the louder the better as long as it's not causing damage. My favorite time is fall, crisp leaves, dry air...all the smells and sounds that go along with it. Unfortunately NO WEATHER puts me in the mood to clean closets or organize.
