All right - I'm going to start things off!

"Look at that Momma - a shooting star!"
She smiled at her son. "Yes, honey. How beautiful. Why don't you make a wish?"
"I wish for you not to be alone this new year."
Tears formed in her eyes. Now there was a thought she'd wished often over the last few months. Someone to come along, and share his life with her and her son. "That's nice, sweetie. But  you could have wished for something for yourself."
"I don't want you to be lonely."
"I'm not lonely. I have you."
He rolled his eyes. "Mom, you know what I mean."
She ruffled his hair. "Okay - time for bed."
"But I'm not tired." He let out a big yawn.
Famous last words for a tired child, she thought.

All right - you're up! What happens next?

  1. At that moment the phone rang, which Lisa ran inside to answer. She was curious of who would call at such an hour. Probably just work, wanting her come in for an extra shift.
    "Hello," she answered pleasantly.
"Hi, is this Lisa?" a soulful sounding male voice said.
"Yes, it is. Who is this?"

  3. My name is Aiden, I went to school with you years ago. I ran into Joe & Kate at the restaurant and I was asking about you. I always thought you were beautiful but I never had the nerve to ask you out. Anyhow I was talking to them about you asking if you were still around and how you were. They gave me your number and told me I should give you a call. So here I am. I was wondering if you would like to get a cup of coffee sometime or lunch.

I'm going to be in town for about three weeks, and I would really like to see you and maybe catch up on some old time gossip. *saying that with a little mischief in his voice.

  4. She wracked her brain trying to come up with his face, or even who he was. Her mind raced with images of classmates, classes, old friends until she hit it. He had been in her introduction to Italian class. They had been partnered up several times on conversation assignments and he'd saved her from looking like a fool more times than she could have counted. His mastery of language was flawless while she stumbled around like a blind bull in a china shop.
"Aiden!! Oh my gosh I can't believe you called. It's been so long. How have you been? What have you been doing, where are you living?"
The questions flew from her lips before she had time to give him a chance to answer. She laughed nervously. "Sorry, it's just so nice to hear from you."

  5. Well I can tell you this Aiden said; all those Italian classes paid off. I've been living in Venice for the last few years.
However, I would love to tell you more about in person. Can you spare some time for an old classmate? I understand if you can't. But I would really like to see you Lisa.

  6. To avoid sounding over anxious, Lisa paused for a few seconds before responding. "That would be great," she said, controlling the excitement in her voice.
    "Wonderful, how about tomorrow night?"
"Perfect," she said. Jason was spending the night at a friends so it was as if it was destiny.
The details were worked out, of where to meet, an Italian restaurant downtown and Lisa hung up with a huge smile.
"Who was that?" Jason asked, wandering back inside, rubbing his tired eyes.

  7. "Just an old friend from High School sweetie" she assured him, ushering him back toward his bedroom.
"A girl friend or a boy friend?" he asked, wondering if his wish was already working.
Lisa tucked him back into bed.
"A guy friend, but don't go marrying me off yet little man. You're the only guy I want right now" she assured him with a kiss, "Get back to sleep, sweet dreams."
She watched him snuggle himself down into the blankets once more before she started out of his room, shaking her head softly with a smile.

  8. Lisa woke up with a smile. Thinking to herself; tonight I get to see Aiden. "I wonder if he's still as handsome as he was in High school."

Closing her eyes she pictured Aiden as he was all those years ago. He always looked so good in hi GQ looking clothes, and he smelled so yummy. Speaking out loud to herself; "I sure hope he smells as good as he did than, I will just have to eat him up if he does." She chuckled to herself along with feeling herself blush.

OH MY GOSH! You would think I've never been around a man. She said to herself, however she did turn around in a dance and laughed. A date a actual date, she mumbled.

  9. She felt like a teenager on a first date.Wondering if the years had changed her so much that he would not be interested now.
She glanced into the full length mirror and knew she still looked good even though she had real curves now of a woman who had born a child and was older.
The doorbell rand and she took one last look and then opened the door.
Aiden was still a extremely handsome man. And oh wow, he smelled like heaven! She could eat him alive.
He kissed her check and then he grinned that grin that had set every girl in school on fire.

  10. "You haven't changed a bit," Aiden said, admiring her perfect form.
Her heart racing from the sensation of his touch, Lisa tried to compose herself enough to speak. "Thanks, neither of you."
Aiden stepped further inside and quickly scanned the apartment before his eyes landed on a picture of her with Jason. "Whose the little guy?"
